United Healthcare recently identified a claims payment issue where they incorrectly paid claims from October through December at an old rate for many facilities. This only affects homes that had a retro rate change for October- forward. UHC has corrected the system to now apply the correct rate going forward. They have also completed an audit for October 2016-January 2017 and submitted claims projects to correct any claims that have been underpaid as a result of this issue. Any provider that bills weekly was included in a claims sweep for the first half of January 2017. The timeline of completion for these projects has a 30 day timeline and providers will start to see those adjustments on RA’s in the coming weeks. If you have any questions regarding this project, please reach out to Michelle Cowen or Mona Hull.
