We have been talking about it for months and the launch is finally here – Aging Services Careers Day will be held on April 11, 2018. This special day will be all about promoting careers in aging services in Kansas. The day incorporates all levels of care and not just nursing homes. The goals are 3-fold:
- Promote careers in aging
- Connect potential students with aging services providers
- Raise the image of aging services with young people in Kansas
Careers in Aging Services Day will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 across the state. We will begin the day at 9:00 AM with a simulcast from LeadingAge Kansas to all members welcoming the students, talking about aging services and launching them on their day. We have developed a toolkit for members to use to prepare for this Day, which includes:
- Social media info cards and sample posts with the hashtag #ksagingcareers
- Sample Press Releases for members to use
- HIPAA information
- Web Stickers for members to put on their websites
- Poster than can be printed, tailored and hung in the community or schools
- Aging Services careers brochure
In the coming weeks, we will be recording a couple of videos to provide to high school students and to their parents to encourage them to look into these careers.
This is an exciting opportunity to focus on all of the good things that happen in Aging Services. If you are interested in being part of Aging Services Career Day, please contact Dana Weaver.
