The Long-Term Care Discussion Group will meet on December 20th at 1:00 PM CST to talk about two new studies commissioned by the Minnesota Department of Human Services. The state has consistently ranked first or second among all states in the LTSS Scorecard – most recently it was ranked #1 in the 2023 scorecard. But even the state that ranks highest in the nation is facing big demographic shifts.

A demographic study of the states over 65 population will provide a detailed look at the expected growth of the population and anticipated use of long-term care. That study will be posted here. In addition, a second study, “Options to Increase Access to Long-Term Care Financing, Services, and Supports in Minnesota” found that even with Minnesota’s success, service gaps persist.
