Lakeview Village in Lenexa had a great visit with their new state senator, Dinah Sykes, when she responded to their invitation to visit their campus recently.  Senator-Elect Sykes saw Lakeview’s great services and programs in action, and was educated about challenges associated with Medicaid for long-term care providers in her district and across the state. Senator Sykes and her colleague, Senator Marci Francisco, plan to return to Lakeview in the spring to give a presentation to the residents and staff on legislative progress.

Lakeview CEO Jamie Frazier was upbeat about Sykes’ visit, saying, “She is very aware of the Medicaid cut, the impact of a potential Medicaid block grants, the delay in Medicaid certifications and payment. I believe she will be a good ally and will be very responsive.”  Hold her to it Jamie!

Our goal is to have 100% of our members reach out to their state legislators before they convene in January in Topeka.  We are getting there!
