Several members have reached out after receiving requests for meetings from bidders for the KanCare RFP. The RFP is expected to open mid-September with bidders being announced Spring 2024. Providers are welcome to meet with current or prospective bidders to discuss challenges and successes of KanCare for long-term care services, however, they are not obligated to do so. Providers are allowed to submit letters of support for bidders, but ultimately the decision falls to leadership within state departments currently involved in the Medicaid program including Kansas Department of Health and Environment, Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services, and Kansas Department for Children and Families.
