The business office employees carry responsibility for a variety of different functions that are critical to successful operations. This bootcamp was designed just for business office staff to gain a better understanding of the pieces of their role and learn best practices for success.

  • Financial topics like financial documents, benchmarks, credit cards, AR and cash flow management and more.  
  • Legal/Compliance topics like HIPAA Privacy, Security, and Breach Notification Rules, Office of Inspector General (OIG) enforcement areas in long-term care, background checks, responding to subpoenas for resident records, financial and healthcare powers of attorney and more. 
  • Medicaid eligibility topics like key terminology, eligibility criteria, application process, and tips for application and communication success.

Stephanie Gfeller, MS, LACHA is the Director of Education and Leadership. Stephanie joined the association in 2019 and oversees the development of our education programs, writes and manages all of our federal grant programs, and leads our Center for Leadership program. With her master’s degree in Gerontology from Kansas State University, adult care home administrator license, experience as a researcher and instructor at the K State Center on Aging, and endless creativity, Stephanie is ideally suited to her leadership role in our field.
