The Fire Marshal wants to bring a new requirement to your attention about K Extinguishers. This requirement comes out of NFPA 10 5.5.5.3 which says “A placard shall be conspicuously placed near the extinguisher that states that the fire protection system shall be actuated prior to using the fire extinguisher.” It would be a good idea to have this action outlined in your fire plan to make sure that sure that the fire protection system is emphasized for the safety of staff.
