The LeadingAge Kansas Board met last week to review two conceptual proposals set forth by KDADS for ways to calculate Medicaid Nursing Facility Rates starting July 1, 2018. One proposal called for using the additional $38.9 M for a flat increase for all providers; the second for a partial rebase to cost years 2015, 2016, 2017. (Full rebase would be $44 M.) After staff presentation of an analysis of both proposals, the board voted to endorse the rebase proposal. (Please note that KDADS will receive feedback from various groups and determine which model to follow early in June.)
The next board meeting will be July 24, 2018.
