We get weekly calls from members asking for MDS Education. Here is your chance! Join Diane Atchinson at the Meridian Center in Newton, February 20th and 21st for intermediate MDS training. You asked for MDS training and here it is. This day-and-a-half workshop will include a focused discussion and update of MDS sections, Care Area Assessment process, the care plan process and an overview of Medicare Assessments and updates.
At the conclusion of this workshop it is anticipated the participant will be able to:
- Identify the difference between the different types of OBRA assessments including timeframes for completion.
- Discuss when a significant change MDS should be completed and how that impacts the timeframes for future OBRA mandated assessments
- Identify the key aspects of the MDS interview processes
- Discuss how a CAA is triggered and how to “work” a CAA.
- Identify the key aspects of the care plan process
- Identify the regulations related to Medicare scheduled versus unscheduled assessments
- Discuss the Medicare admission assessment and completion of section GG, who should complete this section and how goals should be set
- Identify when a discharge stay MDS assessments must be completed and ability to combine assessments.
- Discuss MDS impact on Quality Measures across the continuum
