We are thrilled to announce that McKnight’s has named Rachel Monger in the inaugural class of Rising Stars named in their Women of Distinction program. Rachel joins 20 other women who are making a positive impact on our field. Rachel has been a driving force of the LeadingAge Kansas team in the advocacy arena with many successes. She is well respected at the statehouse and at state agencies and sets the bar as the gold standard in advocacy. She was instrumental in gaining over $40 million in Medicaid reimbursement in the 2018 Legislative Session.

Rachel is acutely aware of the stresses of LeadingAge Kansas members and she is focused on achieving public policy that helps them provide excellent quality and services to older Kansans. She is passionate about freeing Kansas from elder abuse and has been instrumental in policy and agency-level work to increase prosecution on abusers and develop an elder abuse shelter network.

She is often quoted in the media about issues pertaining to long-term care and is the go-to person about all things long-term care for many reporters in the state.

Congratulations Rachel! We are thrilled to have you on our team and our members are well served by your passion.

If you would like to personally congratulate Rachel, you can email her at rachel@leadingagekansas.org or send cards to 217 SE 8th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66603-3906.
