CMS notified Skilled Nursing Providers on Aug. 22 that there was a calculation error in the FY2016 baseline period performance data that excluded certain SNF stays erroneously. CMS will be issuing corrected FY2020 Performance Score Reports no later than Aug. 31. SNFs’ performance scores and value-based incentive payment modifiers may differ from the initial report impacting a SNF’s Medicare payments beginning Oct. 1, 2019. SNFs do not need to take any additional action once the corrected reports are available in a SNF’s CASPER folder. Rate adjustments using the corrected modifier will still take effect as previously scheduled on Oct. 1, 2019.
