You are invited to attend a special job description analysis (T-Profile) session for LeadingAge Members with the Education Design Lab and Wichita State University.  This special session will take place on Wednesday, September 13th from 9:00 to 11:00 AM.

The Aging Care Professional (ACP) project is so important that we want to make sure to collect as much feedback as possible. This celebrates the idea that the final curriculum, badges, and/or certificates help future and current direct healthcare professionals working with aging in various roles and environments. It will meet the expected competencies needed to work with the aging population today.  This would include various positions like CNAs, LPNs, Activity Directors, Social Workers/Case Managers, etc., as well as various environments like, care homes, hospitals, clinics, home health and hospice agencies, private duty agencies, and other aging focused care services.

We need you! This is one of the most important parts for our industry leaders, faculty, and staff to participate in. Here is where you get to share your opinions about what future and current healthcare professionals need to be successful in the aging and caring industry.  Think about what skills you are not seeing applicants or current staff proficient in, but need to understand when working with the aging, i.e., soft skills, technical skills, proper documentation, understanding dementia, working with empathy, etc. You will inform us of the various skill and credential requirements for your respective roles using the Education Design Lab’s T-Profile tool. That is how WSU will design industry-informed learning opportunities for someone working with the aging population.

LOGISTICS:

  • T-Profile Sessions take about 2 hours.  45 minutes for introductions and understanding the process. Then, you will focus on completing a T-Profile for a job role at your organization. Be sure to find a digital copy of that job description, as it will make the process to analyze and/or copy over the requirements easier.
  • The tool is used online, so during the session you will receive a link to use the T-Profile tool. The Education Design Lab will explain how to use it.
  • We ask that you invite your HR and/or hiring managers to also participate, but feel free to invite anyone that you feel will help in fine tuning the understanding of what key competencies and 21st Century Skills your company needs when hiring qualified professionals.

The Education Design Lab will be facilitating this session. If you have additional questions about the process or would like the meeting link, please reach out to Kylee Childs.
