Receiving Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) and medications from the KDHE Bureau Disease Control and Prevention (namely: Tuberculosis Control and Sexually Transmitted Infection [STI]/HIV Program) depend on your certification in the 340B program. The 340B program with the Office of Pharmacy Affairs Information System (OPAIS) allows the Bureau of Disease Control and Prevention to offer free medications and reduced cost PPD to those certified. All local health departments and health facilities that currently order PPD or medications from us will have to certify for the 340B program in OPAIS between October 1st – 5th. Effective January 1, 2023, those not registered with OPAIS will no longer be eligible to receive medications or PPD from us. If you receive free PPDs from this source, your organization was sent a letter on September 15, 2022, from KDHE regarding the 340B registration and the instructions for registering. If your program did not receive a letter or if you have questions, please contact the Bureau of Disease Control and Prevention at kdhe.bdcpmeds@ks.gov.
