The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) created a webpage on the hospice quality reporting program webpage to help hospices update their demographic information on the Care Compare website. The new resource will show hospices how to verify and update their demographic information to ensure accuracy.

Demographic information includes address, phone number, ownership status. With the new five-star ratings for hospice being shared publicly, now is an essential time to update this information. Additionally, Leading Age has often noted provider ownership status is frequently incorrect which can lead to issues with comparisons between non-profit and for-profit agencies. CMS did note, updates can take up to six months to reflect on Care Compare.
