The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) issued a statement on its agreement with Pfizer to extend patient access to Paxlovid, aimed at minimizing taxpayer investment, as Paxlovid is transitioned to the commercial market. Individuals on Medicare, Medicaid, and those who are uninsured will continue to be able to access HHS-procured Paxlovid for free through the end of 2024 via a patient assistance program. More details are available in this press release.
