Lakeview Village in Lenexa resident Margaret Ackley received the Rev. Don Bakely Humanitarian Award from Cross-Lines Community Outreach, Inc at their 14th Annual Gala for Hope on October 7th. Margaret has volunteered at Cross-Lines for 20 years in various capacities. She currently answers the phone and directs calls on Wednesday mornings, and works as a cashier at the thrift shop on Wednesday afternoons and Friday mornings.
Cross-Lines Community Outreach has provided services and opportunities for people in the Kansas City area affected by poverty for more than 50 years. The organization provides meals, rent and utility assistance, emergency medical assistance and much more for at-risk families, elderly and individuals.
