As CMS continues the move toward new Medicare cards, it is important for your organization to have a plan for the transition. This plan needs to include not only your admissions and billing personnel, but also your residents and their families.

CMS has a Provider webpage with content specifically about the transition and resources. The webpage is continually updated with new content, which is marked as “New” on the site. The webpage also includes a way to order or print posters and handouts to educate residents and their families about the change. There are also resources and recommendations for your staff.
