As many of our nursing home members do, we read McKnights LTC news at least weekly. A recent in-your-face article titled “How to quickly size up the health of any facility” prompted discussion around the office. The gist of the article is that you can tell how successful a long-term care provider is by the way it treats its MDS coordinator(s). The MDS coordinator is one of THE most important positions within a nursing home when you consider their direct effect on the bottom line. Take a moment to read the article and then take whatever action makes sense for your organization.
