A live demonstration of a recent Five-Star Report for a Kansas facility will provide real-world context. Throughout the session, attendees will gain insight into what facilities are currently doing to enhance business success, along with best practice tips. The presentation will also cover the importance of the Five-Star Rating, how it is calculated, and the available resources. Grant Opportunity: Support Nurse Well-Being in Rural and Long-Term Care Settings

The American Nurses Foundation (ANF), the philanthropic arm of the American Nurses Association, is offering a funding opportunity to support nurse well-being in rural and long-term care settings. Part of a larger, three-year $3.1 million partnership between ANF and the United Health Foundation, this grant program aims to expand the reach of the Nurse Well-Being: Building Peer and Leadership Support curriculum to underserved environments where support structures are urgently needed. The initiative focuses on reducing nurse burnout and attrition by implementing the Stress First Aid model—a proven framework originally developed for high-risk professions and adapted to meet the needs of nurses. The model emphasizes peer support and leadership engagement to help nurses recover from stress reactions and build long-term resilience. ANF is offering up to five mini-grants of $10,000 each, and the deadline to apply is May 20, 2025. According to ANF, this is an excellent opportunity for organizations in rural or long-term care settings to adopt evidence-based tools that foster supportive, sustainable work environments for their nursing teams.
