Many of you saw the KDADS ad for surveyors posted last week on Facebook. It contained verbiage that many of our members found troubling. The ad was taken down immediately once we contacted the Agency, but it continued to circulate as a screenshot in the provider community.

KDADS Secretary Tim Keck asked us to send this message to all of you in regards to the ad:

“I understand how providers might have taken the language we used as disrespecting the hard work they do. The language was not meant to be disrespectful. I have always had the utmost respect for the quality care given by the long term care providers in Kansas. This respect has been become deep gratitude over the last few months. I have been fortunate to meet many providers, owners, administrators and direct care staff alike. To a person, their concerns are for their residents first. I look forward to continuing to build a strong relationship between the agency and our provider networks so we can all work to provide the best care for Kansans.”

We appreciate Secretary Keck’s swift and sincere response.
