On May 15, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) issued a memo outlining a recent finding that CMS had been double-paying PACE organizations through a prospective mechanism. PACE organizations receive two prospective payments to cover both Part D premiums and cost shares for dual eligibles. CMS recently learned of these overpayments issued from January 2023 to June 2024. Reconciliation and recovery will occur for these overpayments in the June prospective payment. Read the full memo here
