LeadingAge followed up with CMS regarding the letter sent to Administrator Brooks-LaSure in April asking questions and to partner with CMS, about the $75 million to HRSA for a staffing, recruitment and training, campaign to increase the long-term care workforce.   The initiative’s mechanisms have not been released fully with the final rule.

In an email response to LeadingAge’s follow-up query, Evan Shulman, Director, Division of Nursing Homes, CMS, said the $75 million will come from federal CMP funds, but states can also contribute state CMP funds.   HRSA will now not be involved in the campaign but no other details regarding the state CMP fund process or the end with HRSA was given.  LeadingAge will continue to engage and monitor.
