KDHE Secretary Lee Norman has named Adam Proffitt to be their Medicaid Director, effective immediately.

Secretary Norman says of Proffitt, “Adam demonstrates a remarkable capacity to do strategic thinking, detailed analytic work, negotiate with a wide variety of audiences,  and communicate detailed financial concepts and material in ways that people understand.  He is a very credible executive.  KanCare is an approximately $3B “insurance program”, and I am happy that he will direct this large and important program.”

Secretary  Norman also selected Chris Swartz to be the Healthcare Division Director of Operations/COO, effective immediately.  Secretary Norman says of Swartz, “In the four months I have been in the Secretary position, I have come to admire the depth and breadth of knowledge Chris has in all the operational issues of the Division:  policy, day-to-day operations, information technology, and contract management and adherence, to name but a few.  She somehow manages high-level issues one moment and, the next, handles a beneficiary-level concern.  Her attention to customer service is admirable.  She is highly-regarded and appreciated inside and outside our Agency.”

Congratulations to Adam and Chris on their new positions.
