KDADS has established a PEAK 2.0 Advisory Team. The purpose of the team is to “provide recommendation to KDADS to champion person-centered care, and provide guidance regarding specific PEAK-related issues and provide suggestions to promote a continually improving program.”

LeadingAge Kansas members on the PEAK 2.0 Advisory Team include: Michael Rajewski, Sterling Presbyterian Manor; Peggy House, Atchison Senior Village; Leanna Chaffee, Brewster Health Center; Larry Nanny, Kansas Masonic Home and Jeff Ritcha, Showalter Villa.  Other provider members include Tamika Atkins, Wilson Care and Rehabilitation Center; Anita Winkel, Downs Care and Rehabilitation Center; Bobby Handshy, Medicalodge Columbus and Angela Moore, Sharon Lane Health Services.  Barbara Hickert, State LTC Ombudsman, is also a member of the Advisory Team. Members are to review the PEAK experience report and PEAK program recommendations and develop a list of high level, program enhancing recommendation for consideration by KDADS’ leadership.  Membership will be reviewed annually.

Advisory Team leadership includes: Codi Thurness, KDADS; Melissa Warfield, KDADS; Georgianna Correll, KDADS; and Laci Cornelison, KSU Center on Aging.  Leadership will be looking at the potential involvement of the KanCare MCOs in PEAK.

Rachel Monger, JD, LACHA is President/CEO. Rachel joined LeadingAge Kansas in 2011 as the Director of Government Affairs and has been a powerful voice for our membership ever since. Rachel is a Kansas licensed attorney and adult care home administrator. She received her bachelor’s degree from Bard College at Simon’s Rock in Great Barrington, MA, and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Kansas School of Law. Over the years, Rachel has served in many volunteer roles in her community and in the state of Kansas to support senior needs, aging services education, and community mental health services. She is also a member of the Board of Governors for the Kansas Health Care Stabilization Fund. As an award-winning trial lawyer, turned award-winning senior care advocate, she has spent nearly two decades passionately supporting quality of care and quality of life for Kansas seniors.
