Have you (and your key staff, board members, and your other constituents) sent an email to members of Congress to advocate for the reform and/or replacement of the federal nursing home survey and enforcement system? Many LeadingAge Kansas members and the people they serve have fallen victim to the outrageous escalation of deficiency scope and severity assignment and resulting huge fines. This is in addition to the onslaught of new regulatory requirements now being rolled out by CMS. We need to send a message to many audiences, including our members of Congress, that this is threatening providers of long-term care in their districts and the seniors they serve. Send your email message to Congress today.  (Do it again if you’ve already sent a message. The volume of messages is critical.)
