LeadingAge national has submitted a comment letter to CMS on the 2020 Advance Notice of Methodological Changes for Medicare Advantage (MA) Capitation Rates and Part D Payment Policies (the Advance Notice) and Draft Call Letter (“Call Letter”). Their comments took into account feedback they received from LeadingAge members around the country, and focused on:

  • Proposed MA plan rate policies and their effects on provide rate adequacy.
  • The new Special Supplemental Benefits for Chronically Ill (SSBCI).
  • Dual Special Need Plan “look alike” plans.
  • Crossover claims for dual eligibles enrolled in MA plans.
  • Suggestions for improving the accuracy of provider directories by simplifying parts of the provider credentialing process to reduce administrative burden.

The deadline to submit comments to CMS was March 1. CMS’s final 2020 Call Letter will be published by April 1.
