This training with Belinda Vierthaler is designed to teach caregivers how to create an environment where people with dementia and the people working with them can thrive.

Working with people with dementia is rewarding and challenging. CMS is now requiring that skilled nursing communities analyze behavior health care, which includes dementia. This course presents ways in which caregivers can promote a dementia-friendly environment by looking at the whole person. The course also briefly discusses mental health and LTC residents. There will be an interactive discussion of how to individualize care for people with dementia, with an emphasis on non-pharmacological interventions.
