Careers in Aging Services Day Toolkit
Are you participating in Careers in Aging Services Day on April 11th? Here are some great tools that we have developed to help you get started including a timeline, press releases, ideas and much more.
February/March 2018
- RSVP to Dana Weaver that your organization will participate
- Gather group of employees to help plan your event
- Poll your staff to assess their interest in having a shadow
- Define your organizations job focus. What jobs will you focus on?
- Reach out to local high-schools and colleges
- Choose how to best implement into the daily activity to get the most out of their interactions with the staff and elders.
- Begin to market to local schools
- Contact counselors at high schools – sample wording
- Contact local Universities/Tech/Community Colleges – sample wording
- Poster to put up at local schools
- Brochure to provide to students about jobs in aging
- Use our stickers to put on your website and/or share with the educational entity. These can also be used on social media pages.
- March 29th Teleconference with LeadingAge Kansas to go over details at 2:00 PM
- Agenda (call in number will be provided to participants the week of the teleconference)
- HIPAA Privacy Information and Sample Release Form
- Make sure to take pictures!!!
