One of the things many people have learned in the past 15 months is the importance of the medical director role to the post-acute and long-term care (PALTC) settings. That’s why it’s critical—whether you’ve been working in the field for one year or 20—to sign up for AMDA’s Core Curriculum on Medical Direction in PALTC. The Core offers comprehensive instruction on management and leadership skills to help medical directors solve everyday challenges they face—such as organizing and coordinating physician services and services provided by other professionals as they relate to patient care, and participating in establishing policies and procedures for assuring that the rights of individuals (residents, staff members, and community members) are respected. The on-demand on-line format is followed by the Core Synthesis, a weekend program comprised of engaging lectures, interactive role-plays, case-based discussion, and small group breakouts. It is being offered twice this year. The Summer Synthesis is being held virtually July 16-18, while the Fall Synthesis will take place in both virtual and in-person formats October 15-17.
