Our friends at LeadingAge New York have developed 6 charts, one for each of the new SNF quality measures, that compare the new measures by ownership type for each state. At the top of the page there is the name of the QM, whether it’s better to be higher or lower on this measure, the source of the data and the measurement period.
These 6 new measures are loaded in Nursing Home Quality Metrics so provider-specific comparisons are possible. It’s difficult to assess the exact impact of the 6 measures that are being added to the 5 star rating because CMS has not released the exact specifications or how the measures will be phased in to the 5 star system. The charts will allow you to see if your organization is above or below the state and national averages for each new measure.
