CMS is beginning a pilot program to audit Payroll Based Journaling data submitted by long-term care providers for the first quarter of 2017. These audits are not part of any health and safety survey and any findings from these audits will not result in sanctions or negative actions against the provider. At the end of the audit, the team will meet with staff to discuss the findings.
