In last Thursday’s Publication Register on the Kansas Secretary of State’s website, the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services posted “final” nursing facility rates set to take effect on July 1. These rates contain flawed CMI data that will need to be corrected. KDADS hopes to have the actual final rates posted in next week’s Kansas Register (June 20th). KDADS will also be reaching out to any provider who will see a drop of more than $5 in their new rate in order to explain what occurred.

The correct rates will still technically take effect on July 1st, however there is some concern that the new numbers may not have gotten to every MCO on time to avoid the need for claims correction. Please keep an eye out for any communications from MCOs around this issue.
