The Kansas Department of Health and Environment released the unwinding data for April and May earlier this week. This data is a snapshot in time and currently does not have enough data to provide trend analysis. Below is an overview of the data as of June 6th

  • 207,273 people across the state were sent renewal notices. 
  • 22,465 people have been approved. 
    • 6,205 people approved were non-MAGI (modified adjusted gross income) which contains long-term care (LTC) and elderly and disabled (E&D) programs. 
  • 5,667 people have been discontinued. 
    • 735 people discontinued were non-MAGI which contains long-term care (LTC) and elderly and disabled (E&D) programs. 
  • 45,820 people are in a 90-day window. 
    • 5,818 people in the 90-day window are non-MAGI which contains long-term care (LTC) and elderly and disabled (E&D) programs. 

Those in the 90-day window are considered past due but have 90 days from their renewal deadline to file their paperwork with the clearinghouse to have their coverage backdated. The state agency also provided call center data showing 37,533 calls received in May, an average abandonment rate of 29.83% which is down from 53% in April, a 24-minute average speed to answer which is down from 43 minutes in April, and an average handle time of 11:40 minutes.
