The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released memo QSO-24-14-NH on July 1 detailing updates to the Staffing domain coming with the July 31 Care Compare refresh. Changes include unfreezing the staffing level measures in the Staffing domain and calculating measures based on updated case mix methodology; a change to turnover measure specifications to allow staff on leave for 90 days or less to not trigger turnover; and posting facility-level Minimum Data Set (MDS) data and data from the form CMS-671 on the data site data.cms.gov. CMS has also announced that they will be posting updated consumer guides on the Care Compare site.
