Overview of Kansas Legislative Bethell Committee
The KanCare Oversight Committee, often referred to as Bethell, met the first part of the day on Monday to cover all things Medicaid and picked up for a full second day with more presentations and provider comments. LeadingAge Kansas kept verbal comments short and focused on the delays in payments for providers and communication gaps that have contributed to prior authorization issues. Other testimony provided on Tuesday included comments from the Long-Term Care Ombudsman on “invalid admissions” and “illegal discharges or invalid discharges” and various recommendations they would be seeking legislative assistance to address in future sessions. You can read that presentation here and watch the 30 minute verbal testimony on YouTube here.
