Following last month’s Washington Post series on safety and quality in assisted living, the Senate Special Committee on Aging has announced its intention to explore those issues in an upcoming hearing and consider what steps the federal government needs to take to improve conditions. Committee staff have requested information from some of the largest assisted living providers on topics including elopements, communications with families, costs, and staffing levels.
