Kansas’s emergency preparedness system is anchored in part by six regional Healthcare Coalitions, which assist communities to ensure sustainability and recovery of health care services during a crisis or emergency. The KDHE website has a map with contact information for these Coalitions, which are a valuable place for providers to build knowledge, obtain resources, and create partnerships. Right now the coalitions are developing a software to help long-term care facilities connect and share information and resources in case of emergency. If you are interested in being a part of the review/input team, contact Sue Cooper.
As you continue to work on emergency preparedness, please explore the valuable opportunities that you can find within your own regional health coalitions.
