The newest North Newton service, Bluestem Therapy, will host a virtual grand opening event on Thursday, February 18th, in celebration of its new facility.

To maintain health and safety standards, a virtual ribbon cutting with the Newton Chamber of Commerce will be at 4 PM on Feb. 18th. A facility tour and interviews with therapists are available to view online any time before or after the virtual event. Access to the virtual tour, interviews and live virtual ribbon cutting can be found at bluestemtherapy.com.

Bluestem Therapy, which provides a variety of physical, occupational and speech therapies, is the only therapy provider on the north end of the city of Newton. Therapists and operations are contracted through Genesis Rehab Services, a national leader in the long-term care rehabilitation industry, and offers therapies for all ages, along with specialized treatments for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease and lymphedema.

Bluestem Therapy, located at 420 Bluestem Street in North Newton, is currently accepting new patients through physician referral and is operational with pandemic precautions of physical distancing and mask-wearing.

“Even though Bluestem Therapy is located at Kidron Bethel Village, it’s a therapy treatment facility for all ages,” said Linda Peters, Kidron Bethel Village executive director. “The partnership we have with Genesis and its broad range of services allows us to serve the Newton and North Newton communities with adequate space, equipment and resources.”

The Genesis approach to therapy is unique to most post-acute settings. It features a cohesive, interdisciplinary rehabilitation team that works together through physical, occupational and speech rehab needs as necessary to reach and maintain maximum patient potential.

The location of the Bluestem Therapy addition at Kidron Bethel Village is near the campus’s wellness center, which includes a fitness room and swimming pool. Bluestem Therapy patients will have access to the Wellness Center features to assist in their physical therapy treatment and ongoing health and wellness.

“This beautiful and modern new therapy space helps us live our mission of promoting lifelong wellness and genuine connection by networking more purposefully in the community,” said Peters.
