As of February 17th, there are only 5 long-term care facilities with clusters. Two of those affected by clusters are LeadingAge Kansas members.We are thankful clusters over 5 in Kansas long-term care facilities is continuing to decrease.

CMS Fireside Chats, Second Series
CMS will begin its second special series, part of the CMS National Nursing Home Stakeholder calls, today, February 17th at 3 PM, Central. It will feature Dr. Lee Fleisher, Jean Moody Williams, Dr. Amanda Cohn, and two guests asking questions. Registration is required and can be accessed here. Staff Shortage Guidance: CDC
CDC’s staff shortage guidance is for healthcare facilities that may be experiencing staffing shortages due to COVID-19. Updates to this guidance include: As contingency strategies options allow, asymptomatic HCP who have had a higher-risk exposure to SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19) but are not known to be infected to shorten their duration of work restriction as described in Options to Reduce Quarantine for Contacts of Persons with SARS-CoV-2 Infection Using Symptom Monitoring and Diagnostic Testing; and asymptomatic fully vaccinated HCP who have had a higher-risk exposure to SARS-CoV-2 but are not known to be infected to continue to work onsite throughout their 14-day post-exposure period.
