The MDS 3.0 QM Reports category in the CASPER Reporting application is unavailable as of January 29, 2018 while CMS adds new measures.

The reports that will be unavailable are as follows:

  • MDS 3.0 Facility Characteristics Report
  • MDS 3.0 Facility Level Quality Measure Report
  • MDS 3.0 Monthly Comparison Report
  • MDS 3.0 Resident Level Quality Measure Report
  • MDS 3.0 QM Package Reports

Three new measures will be added to the reports:

  • Percent of Residents Whose Ability to Move Independently Worsened (Long Stay)
  • Percent of Residents Who Used Antianxiety or Hypnotic Medication (Long Stay)
  • Percent of Residents Who Made Improvements in Function (Short Stay)

Currently, two of these measures, Ability to Move Independently Worsened-LS and Improvements in Function-SS, are currently reported on the CMS Five Star Quality Measures, but not on the CASPER Report. This update will add these two measures to the CASPER Report allowing providers to identify the individual residents triggering in these areas.

The logical specifications for these measures was included to the MDS 3.0 Quality Measures User’s Manual.
