LeadingAge, in partnership with national senior living organizations, veterans’ organizations, and consumers’ organizations (including AARP and Alzheimer’s Association), sent a letter to Congressional Leadership and the leadership of the House and Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committees. The letter asked that the “Expanding Veterans’ Options for Long Term Care Act” be included in the next major legislative vehicle. This bill would authorize a 3-year pilot program to assess the effectiveness of providing eligible veterans with the option to live and receive services in assisted living – an option that veterans do not currently have. You can find the letter here and more information on the legislation here
