Effective January 1, 2024, a U.S. Department of Labor final rule released in July 2023 will require certain establishments, including aging services, to electronically submit injury and illness information to OSHA on an annual basis. Specifically, the new rule requires establishments with 100 or more employees in certain designated industry categories to electronically submit information from their OSHA Forms 300 and 301 to OSHA on an annual basis.
LeadingAge shared information about this rule when it was released, but they are sharing a reminder, knowing that the compliance deadline is drawing nearer. Notably, the final rule confirms that OSHA intends to make much of the information it receives, including company names, available to the public in a searchable online database. The due date to submit information covering calendar year 2023 is March 2, 2024.
