Here’s the latest news from KDHE Medicaid Eligibility.

As of this week there are 220 long term care applications delayed over 45 days, a slight increase from two months ago with 217 delayed applications. Here’s the breakdown of the 220 long term care applications:

  • HCBS – 53
  • PACE – 8
  • Nursing Facility – 60
  • Spousal (typically HCBS or NF) – 33
  • Working Healthy – 52
  • Hybrid (households with multiple individuals claiming different types of Medicaid) – 7
  • General LTC (unclear on application which LTC services interested in) – 7

Reminders from KDHE Medicaid Eligibility:

  • Always submit your 2126 form for residents who have been admitted, regardless of whether they have exhausted their Medicare days to prevent delays in processing.
  • Always indicate an appropriate level of care on the 2126 and remember only one level of care can be marked.
  • The document upload portal for providers is not to be used for submitting new applications or renewals. New applications or renewals must go through the consumer portal located on the Medicaid website. Only supporting documentation for a pending application can be submitted through the provider document upload portal.

With the transition to a new MCO starting January 1, here’s the Medicaid 3.0 implementation memo for review.
