Your shipment of free COVID-19 POC tests should have arrived or will arrive shortly. KHDE’s Emergency Management partners (KDEM) have been busy sending lots of tests out to congregate care facilities. Although everyone who received tests should have received information explaining that the tests are FREE from KDHE, there are some facilities who seem unaware.

Resources from NHSN Webinar on Event-Level COVID-19 Vaccination Reporting Form
The NHSN Vaccination Team hosted a webinar summarizing updates to the Event-Level/Person-Level COVID-19 Vaccination Forms and reviewing frequently asked questions on Thursday, June 9, 2022. They created a quick reference sheet to reiterate a few key points for long-term care facilities (LTCFs) that were covered during the training.
COVID-19 Data Tracker Resources and Updates
COVID-19 Data Tracker is CDC’s home for COVID-19 data. It combines county, state, national, and global data from across the response in a series of interactive dashboards. Recent COVID-19 Data Tracker releases and updates include:
- On May 26th, the Vaccination Trends tab was updated to display vaccination trends among people ages 50 years and older who received a second booster dose.
- On June 2nd, a link to the ASPR COVID-19 Therapeutics website was added to the Additional COVID-19-related Data tab. This site provides current information on COVID-19 therapeutics thresholds, orders, and replenishments by jurisdiction.
- On June 2nd, the Wastewater Surveillance tab was updated to display a national stacked bar chart showing how much virus levels have changed (increased and decreased) over time at wastewater sites across the United States. It shows the percent of total sites over time in each category of the percent change metric.
- The June 3rd COVID-19 Data Tracker Weekly Review Interpretative Summary focuses on CDC’s updated booster guidance and booster uptake among children ages 5 through 11 years old.

Webinar: Understanding the Public Health Workforce’s COVID-19 Mental Health Challenges
On Monday, June 13th, from 12-1 PM CDT, the Region V Public Health Training Center and the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, with support from CDC, will introduce a new graphic essay on mental wellbeing and the challenges faced by the public health workforce .
The webinar will outline relevant data from a Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) and Public Health Workforce Interests and Needs Survey (WINS) and include stories and recommendations from colleagues in the field.
After attending this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Recognize the ongoing mental health challenges faced by current public health workers as highlighted in the recently released Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) and Public Health Workforce Interests and Needs Survey.
- Describe best practices and recommendations for a more sustainable public health infrastructure, including how to support public health leadership capacity and current public health professional training needs.
- Identify two practices to increase personal and/or team wellness.
