CDC has released new resources on enhanced barrier precautions (EBP). While not currently required for nursing homes, EBP are recommended by the CDC to reduce transmission of multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs). We know that the whole country has turned a sharp eye on infection control in nursing homes and CMS added a special section on MDROs to the updated guidance (Appendix PP of the State Operations Manual) last year.
