The National Institute on Aging (NIA) points to progress achieved so far in developing new ways to diagnose, treat, and potentially prevent Alzheimer’s disease. This progress is due to the thousands of individuals who have volunteered to participate in clinical trials and other studies.

According to the NIA, more than 150 clinical trials now in progress need volunteers. At least 70,000 people with Alzheimer’s disease, healthy individuals, and caregivers are needed for these studies.  People can volunteer by calling 1-800-438-4380 or on-line at www.nia.nih.gov/alzheimers/volunteerMore information is available from NIA.  LeadingAge Kansas members can help by making this information available to residents and clients and their families.
