II. Following the Narrative: A quick summary of national media trends last week.
(* indicates that LeadingAge is featured in the story.)
The week’s national media focus started and ended on a similar topic: coverage of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). Both the Senate and House passages received attention for the majority of the week. Also on the national front: rising interest in the development, and eventual distribution, of a new fall COVID booster. In addition to the IRA, trade coverage focused on different aspects of both staffing and funding (CMS visits related to minimum staffing proposal, state funding for programs and professional caregivers and new research studies on workforce recovery and support for disadvantaged areas of the country).
