    CMS Updates Section GG MDS and OASIS Web-Based Training  

    The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) updated a 5-part series of web-based training courses that provide an overview of the assessment and guidance to promote accurate coding of the post-acute care (PAC) cross-setting Section GG data elements. Each course contains interactive exercises to test providers’ understanding.

    The Center of Excellence for Behavioral Health in Nursing Facilities hosts monthly Office Hours to discuss management of substance use disorder among nursing home residents. Held on the third Friday of every month at 12:00 PM CT, Office Hours feature the opportunity for nursing homes to ask questions and receive expert advice on this complex issue. With a professional background in law enforcement and child welfare, and a successful 2023 legislative practicum with the Children's Alliance of Kansas, she brings rich professional experience to her role as Director of Government Affairs, and a front-line perspective on the needs of health and human services providers in our state.
