LeadingAge Kansas members have rated association staff, advocacy and communications as exceptional in a recent member survey conducted by nSight Marketing. It is one of the highest satisfaction rates for associations.
“The results are the best I’ve ever collected from an association – large and small. Very Satisfied ratings with LeadingAge Kansas Staff, Communications, and Advocacy were in the exceptional range (ranking 75% Very Satisfied or above),” says Melynn Sight of nSight Marketing.
LeadingAge Kansas is an association of approximately 160 nonprofit aging services providers across Kansas. The staff are dedicated to making sure that its members have what they need, to do their jobs well. Several come directly from the membership, having practiced in long-term care as administrators, nurses and social workers.
President and CEO Debra Zehr is happy with the results and wants to do more, “I am pleased by the extraordinarily high satisfaction level of our members with the staff, programs and services of LeadingAge Kansas. It is a reflection of the bedrock commitment of our board and staff to excellence. We take this good news as a challenge, not just to continue to what we do best, but also to explore new and even better ways to meet members’ needs.”
LeadingAge Kansas has been laser focused on advocacy this year, specifically on Medicaid eligibility issues, and cuts to Medicaid providers to help balance the state’s budget. At 4.5%, Nursing Home providers received a higher rate reduction than any other Medicaid provider.
Communication to members is the foundation of any association. It is important to communicate the most critical information in a way that doesn’t overwhelm. That is a difficult balance to strike in an age where an individual is bombarded with information every moment of the day.
“The most courageous associations solicit input from their members, encouraging their responses,” says Sight. “And then they listen closely. LeadingAge Kansas asked what most associations ask – a variety of questions to assess overall satisfaction as well as importance, priority rankings and satisfaction with a variety of association services and offerings.
“Kudos to LeadingAge Kansas for careful survey planning, promotion (a 44% response rate) and for the chance to share the results with your Board of Directors. I understand Staff met next, to discuss and plan next steps based on the findings. I’m Very Satisfied that I was a member of your project team on this important project.”
All of us at LeadingAge Kansas would like to thank our members for giving us the opportunity to serve you. We enjoy what we do and want to help our members be as successful as possible.
