Every LeadingAge Kansas member is encouraged to get engaged with their Regional Healthcare Coalition. Each coalition is a unique voluntary collaborative network of healthcare organizations serving as a regional multiagency group for healthcare disaster coordination.
LeadingAge Kansas members Heather Pilkinton of Topeka Presbyterian Manor and Christie Patrick of Lawrence Presbyterian Manor attended a recent meeting of the North East Kansas Healthcare Coalition (NEKSHCC). Topics included mass fatality exercises review, measles, surveys, a framework for healthcare disaster resilience, and other preparedness topics. They report that the meeting and networking was time well spent.
The next meeting of this group is set for June 5th, 9 AM – 3 PM in the Auditorium at The University of Kansas Hospital St. Francis Campus, 1700 SW 7th St, Topeka, KS 66606. (Note: NEKSHCC meetings are always the first Tuesday of every other month with lunch provided).
Danielle Marten is the NEKSHCC Regional Coordinator. Feel free to contact her for more information.
If you are involved in your regional healthcare coalition, let Debra know via email about the meetings and the kind of value you are getting out of participation.
